Carpet/tile update.....
- Everything in your room will need to move to one side of the room
- Anything fragile and/or valuable should be boxed and placed in a locking cabinet, or home
- If there is something that you want to paint in your room 5/24-5/27 will be the best time to do so; drop cloths will not have to be put down since the carpet is going
- SMARTboard tools and cables should be packed for the summer; these will not be replaced by district if lost/damaged
- I have decided not to collect keys over the summer, but I need you all to check your emails if you plan on coming during the summer as I will be keeping you posted on their progress and what days certain floors are off limits. I really need your help in following this to ensure this process goes as quickly as possible.
COPE Update....
One of the most difficult parts of teaching these courses is teaching three grade levels at a time while managing behaviors. The three COPE teachers at Mesquite will be assigned to the remaining COPE campuses, meaning instead of having three teachers, we will have four next year.
Harcourt Reading Collection....
EVERYTHING, including little books, teacher's manuals, etc. will need to go back to district. Please be thorough as you are cleaning out your classroom, as district is picky about what they collect and when. This is our opportunity to purge all of this.
A Note on Cleaning Up....
With having new carpet installed, and a new reading curriculum, please take some time to be thorough in your cleaning. There is a good chance that we will not have a "garage sale table" in the main hallway this year due to the carpet install.
With the number of students that are easily distracted in our classrooms seemingly growing every year, we need to help them by having clean, well-organized, learning environments that don't have a lot of clutter.
