The New Samsung Galaxy S7
review and specs - buy, wait for sale, or don't touch?
Introduction
Samsung fans will come in awe as the galaxy S7 had finally hit stores. It delivers improved design, performance and other tiny features with not much compromise. The galaxy S7 and S7 edge are arguably the most impressive phones money can buy as of now, coming at around 800$.
Design and Hardware
The Galaxy S7 and S7 edge are no joke. Both have premium builds with a full alluminium band along the sides and a chamfered glass front and back. The S7 holds a 5.1 inch display while the edge boasts a larger 5.5 inch display. The edge noticeably feels better in the hand due to the curved body better suited in the hand.
Performance and display
The displays are again, the best out yet. #teamcrispy will be proud as both show quad HD 1440p displays. Now, this does mean the S7 edge will be less pixel dense coming at 534ppi whereas the S7 is 577ppi, both displays look magnificent and sharp compared to anything out. Cough, cough, looking at the iPhone 6s+. Performance is best yet too, with a octa core snapdragon 820, 4GB RAM, and an Adreno 530 GPU. Beastly specs, and beastly performance with single core and multi scores of 2347 and 5352 respectively. Fastest processor out there by far.
Camera
Inspite of the camera being downgraded from 16 to 12 megapixels (on both phones) it ended up making pictures even better, especially low light. It is the usual Samsung camera; front and back LED flash, superb dynamic range, optical image stabilization, 4K video, and all the other goodies. This is not the best camera out there, probably second after the Nexus 6P, however that means you are getting an amazing smartphone camera. The hude f/1.7 aperture camera is really where it stands out. You are getting great low light pictures. Again, more grainy than the 6P, but definitely great!
Software
Software is still unfortunately Touchwiz. While it is better than some other OS', it still is notrhing compared to stock android. Particularly due to the bloatware and smoothness. Samsung has taken a step forward though, with custom themes, launchers, and unlimited customization. Some might think this will reduce battery life, but that too is amazing. with a 3000 mAh on the S7 and 3600 mAh on the S7 edge, it will easily get you through a day and even two if you are a fairly light user.
Conclusion
In conclusion, the Samsung S7 and S7 edge are probably the best phones out there. Both feature revamped hardware, design, camera, and much more. While we do reccomendthe edge as it is a bigger and better experience, both phones offer no compromise and will give you a buy worth your buck.
