Smoke Signals: Staff Edition

January 7-11, 2019

Happy New Year!

Greetings Shackelford family,

As I sit here in my comfy chair and pajamas enjoying my 3rd cup of coffee this morning, I am so thankful for the wonderful holiday that is finishing. My family and I spent a lot of time together both at home and out. We cleaned & purged the boys bedroom and playroom and it feels great to have our home decluttered & in order! The break was a great time for me to recharge, relax, and get my mind & body ready for the 2nd semester ahead of us. While I could certainly stand a few more days wearing my stretchy pants, I also know that I'm ready for all the things we have planned for the spring!

I have tried to include as many dates for your spring calendar as I can below. There are a few things not there yet and if you see something I missed please point it out! Dates for DCAs and data meetings should have been emailed to the teams directly, so you will not see these dates below. We will also determine dates for Donuts with Dad and Goodies with Grands soon. I will be sending these dates to you on our Outlook calendars.

We start this week with a work day and will have a staff meeting Monday afternoon at 2:00. Tuesday, we will be off campus all day at Camp iNation. Monday's dress is comfy casual.

As you come in Monday, you'll notice the big change that the painting made for our building! The painters may still be on campus Monday & Tuesday finishing up. Please give them the space they need to finish. Do not put anything on the walls in the hallways. We will talk more about this in our staff meeting at 2:00. Keep in mind that the stripe was the only thing painted during the break. The remainder of the building will be painted over summer break.

I love the idea of a clean slate going into the new year. It gives us a fresh start and a chance to dream bigger. I know that spring will be our time to shine and all of our Big Dreams will come true! I'm looking forward to seeing everyone back tomorrow!

Sincerely,

Theresa
