Illinois' Most Effective Skill-Specific Soccer Camp!

Developing Skill, One Player at a Time

Glenview Soccer Club has partnered with Illinois Skill Schools for two soccer camps this summer. Illinois Skill Schools' "Numbers Approach" brings the best skill development methods from all over the world.

The methodology starts with one player: the individual. Each player is guided towards complete mastery of the ball and equipped with up to 50 individual skills. Players are then added to the practice progressively to recreate the small numbers situations that take place during every game, culminating in the 4 v 4 model, which is adopted by professional clubs throughout the world.

To encourage freedom and focus, players take the "Skill Band Challenge" in which they are challenged to master up to 50 new skills. Like the martial arts system, the skills are divided into groups based on type of skill and difficulty. Players are rewarded when they master a group of skills with different colored Skill Bands.

Camp Director

The camps will be directed by Illinois Skill Schools Director, Kyle Jones. Coach Kyle has specialized in skill development for over ten years. A former player at Cornell University, Kyle has coached at the youth, high school and college levels. While working as the Head Coach at The Manchester College (UK), Jones collaborated with professional academy coaches to develop the Illinois Skill Schools methodology and curriculum. He is now the Head Soccer Coach at North Shore Country Day School in Winnetka, IL.
