Eagle Update
September 2019
From Mrs. Adams
Summit Families,
Chromebooks, howdy week, and open house, oh my! The school year is off to an amazing start. We are all smoothly settling into our school routine. The teachers and I have been impressed with the attitude, kindness and school spirit of this year's group of students. On Friday we had a culiminating activity to end our Howdy Week activities. Mrs. Matlock's leadership class arranged an assembly which included a variety of team building games and competitions. Our students competed 01 teams against 02 teams in what turned out to be a fun spirited yet competitive competitive . Students participated in free throw shooting, tug of war, musical chairs, and human hungry hungry hippo just to name a few. It was awesome to see our students having fun with one another and cheering and encouraging each other. The teachers really got into the competitions as well as we discovered one of our pregnant teachers joining in the tug of war to help her team of students win.
I have included several pictures from the Howdy Week Assembly. Our students are awesome, and I am looking forward to wonderful school year. We are very appreciative of your support. Thank you for sharing your student with us. It is a joy to be part of their growth and development.
Summit Parent Club Cookie Dough Fundraiser
Please help the Summit Parent Club raise money this year to fund teacher requests, grade level social events, and special projects by participating in the cookie dough and more fundraiser sale.
This is the ONLY fundraiser that Summit Parent Club facilitates during the school year and your help is critical to its success. Last year the cookie dough fundraiser made $25,000 and this year our goal is $28,000. Every single sale is important and helps support our school, so any and all participation is highly encouraged.
Cookie dough packets went home with students on Friday, August 30th and are due on September 13th.
There are extra packets in the office if your student needs another packet. Thank you in advance for your support of the Summit Parent Club.

Box Tops are going Digital
Box Tops for Education is a great way to collect money while you shop. A new school year means a new way to collect box tops for Summit Middle School! Now not only can you cut the box tops from General Mills products and submit them to the school, but there's a new app, where you scan your receipts! This video link shows you how: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hh94b2BvFK4&feature=youtu.be. All the proceeds go to the Summit Middle School Parent Club, which contributed more than $15,000.00 in school equipment and educational materials, tools for the teachers and students and social events for students last year. Our goal for the 2019-2020 school year is $2,000.00. Summit Middle School has -- students. Each box top is worth $.10. That's only -- box tops per student this year!
