Computer Component

RAM means Random Access Memory. Its a type of memory that can be accessed randomly. Also its the most common type of memory found in a computer and other devises like printers.

Today Random-access memory takes the form of integrated circuits. Ram is normally associated with types of memory (such as DRAM memory modules) where stored information is lost if power is removed, although efforts have been made to develop non-volatile RAM chips. Integrated-circuit RAM chips came into the market in 1960's, with the first commercially available DRAM chips, the Intel 1103, introduced in October 1970.
