Greetings Panther Family,
It's unbelievable that the 2021-2022 school year has come to an end! I want to thank you for your support and commitment to CHMS. It has been a fantastic year exploring new skills, learning new concepts, and building a positive relationship with all of our scholars. We will have an Early Release Day on Friday, May 20, 2022 and scholars will be released at 1:00pm.
Georgia Milestones Assessment Retest
The Georgia Milestones Assessment Retest for 8th graders will take place Monday, May 16 through Wednesday, May 18, 2022. Please make sure your scholar is present each day by 8:45 am. Please refer to the testing schedule below.
Monday, May 16, 2022: ELA Section 1 & 2
Tuesday, May 17, 2022: Mathematics Section 1 & 2
Wednesday, May 18, 2022: Make-Up
Parents, scholars will take final exams Wednesday, May 18 through Thursday, May 19, 2022. Please make sure your scholar is present and on time for testing.
Virtual Student Chromebook Collection
Chromebook collection will take place from Thursday, May 19, through Friday, May 20, 2022 from 8:45 am-3:00 pm. Please ensure that your scholar has all Chromebook items (case, charger, and computer). Lost or stolen devices must be replaced. Please click

Parents, scholars are not to bring book bags for the duration of the school year. Book bags that are brought will be confiscated.
The CHMS Honors Program is available on the school website. This recording will be available from Tuesday, May 17 until Friday, May 20, 2022. Please note that students will have to sign in with their school email (s#@dekalbschoolsga.org) and their password to view the video. This is the same password you use for your Chromebook. For security purposes, the video cannot be viewed without a student login.
Report Cards will be available on Friday, May 27, 2022 on the Infinite Campus portal. Parents, you will need to download the Infinite Campus Parent Portal application to receive real-time grade and attendance notifications (Click here for instructions on creating your Parent Portal account). If you have any questions regarding setting up your parent portal, please visit https://www.dekalbschoolsga.org/infinite-campus/. Students can access their Infinite Campus account through the Clever application.
Uniforms & Dress Down Friday
Scholars who wear their uniform Monday-Thursday during the week will be able to dress down for free on Friday, May 20, 2022. Uniform attire consists of navy, white, or gold polo shirts and black, khaki, or navy uniform pants. Scholars who meet the criteria to dress down on the designated Friday must come in with appropriate dress-down attire. No ripped/distressed jeans, crocs, slides, pajamas are to be worn to school. Blankets are also not allowed at any time.
The counseling department will meet with students who are having challenges academically. We want to re-ensure students are getting the support that is available to help them to be successful for the 2021-2022 school year.
