Gearing Up for Success Partners with West Lafayette Public Library to Bring Services to Richfield Apartments

The Gearing Up for Success team partnered with Beth Will, outreach librarian from the West Lafayette Public Library, to engage families in a read-aloud and book selection time on December 10, 2014. Mrs. Will entertained the 27 children, ages one to 11, in an interactive read-aloud, issued library cards for families who were not yet patrons, and allowed all interested families to check out library materials. Future monthly meetings at Richfield will be organized to allow families to return and check out library materials from the comfort of their own community clubhouse. We look forward to working with Beth Will and the West Lafayette Public library to place more books in the hands of our young students.

Richfield Lending Library Unveiled

Thanks to a generous donation from the West Lafayette Schools Education Foundation, Gearing Up for Success was able to institute a lending library for residents of the Richfield Apartments. Families were introduced to the library and were encouraged to take several books home, enjoy them, and return to exchange them for new titles. Several families made use of the lending library right away!
