Greetings from Room 115! Welcome back!

**If your child is in track, please remind them to wear their practice clothes to school on practice days. There will not be enough time for students to change after school, so they will need to come prepared in the morning.

**The NED show will be here on Wednesday morning. The topic will be "Stop, Walk, Talk" along with anti-bullying. They will also discuss trying your best on ISTEP. After the show, students will have the opportunity to purchase yo-yo's.

**Our visit to Sand Creek Intermediate will be next Monday, April 14. Please be sure your student has their permission slip in by Friday morning.

What are we up to in room 115?

Indiana Tourism Project

The students did wonderful on their projects. Thank you to all those who came, asked questions, and let them talk to you about their regions of tourism!

We are moving into Unit 13 today. We will continue our work with fractions, as well as adding decimals and looking at how these two can relate to one another.

This week we begin our poetry unit! We will spend a large amount of time immersing ourselves in poetry this week and exploring what we find. As we begin to study and enjoy poetry, we will look at what makes poetry unique and how we can use this art form in our lives too.

Our poetry work will continue into our writing time. We will focus on free verse poems and using poetry as another form of expression. This week we will also focus on figurative language and review these skills so that we can apply them to our own poetry. This may be a time for you to try your hand at poetry along with your child!
