Pearl Harbor
A day that will live in Infamy
Pearl Harbor
Japan planned a surprise attack on U.S. Naval point Pearl Harbor on December 7,1941. We never expected Japan to attack us, considering we signed a treaty with them before. On this day, 6 Japanese aircraft carriers were sent to destroy all navy ships. All 8 battleships were damaged, but only 4 sank. 1,177 crewmen were killed, and 21 of those were from the U.S.S. Arizona. This day will forever be known as "The day that will live in infamy."
