Haunted Basement Was a Hit!
Hundreds of students and parent volunteers were involved. Dwyer students made props during art classes and others played music that evening. HBHS students volunteered their time to scare others during the tour. Parent volunteers built everything, provided hair, makeup, and costumes, and were some of the scariest clowns and zombies you've ever seen! It was truly a blast and we hope it will become an annual fundraising event.
A big thank you goes to Erandy Matejka and her team of volunteers. We would never have pulled off this amazing feat without them!
Ethel, is that you? Mrs. Glembocki took on the role of Ms. Ethel Dwyer. She ended the tour letting students know they had survived the basement! | Need to see the nurse? Mrs. Hayes and Mrs. Cook manned the nurse's station all night. | Mood Music Members of our orchestra played music as guests entered and exited the tours. |
Ethel, is that you?
Student Art Here is just one sample of the student art that was created for the Haunted Basement. | DJ Crazy Cat Thanks to Penelope for playing great music for everyone to enjoy that evening! | Don't get trapped... Many students have heard rumors that our school used to be a jail (not true)! We built one in the basement for our zombies! |
Dia de los Muertos Students in Maesta Palmer's classes studied the culture and meaning of Dia de los Muertos. They made altars in groups that had meaning to them personally. | Step It Up Students who earned the Step It Up Fun Day enjoyed their time on Friday. There was certainly a whole lot of activity and dancing! | October GRITband Day Students were honored in class on Tuesday with GRITbands for Gratitude, Responsibility, Integrity, and Tenacity. Don't forget to wear them proudly - you never know when you might be rewarded! Here are some of Miss Garcia's recipients. |
