Haunted Basement Was a Hit!

On Tuesday, October 30, Dwyer held the First Ever Haunted Basement Tours. Approximately 800 tickets were sold to take the thrilling tour through the basement, which included a short video about Ethel Dwyer, multiple scenes to spook you, and even a sighting of Ethel toward the end! Families also enjoyed a country store, cake walk, silent auctions and raffles, School of Rock, and food trucks. We even had our resident DJ, DJ Crazy Cat aka Penelope Perkovich, spinning haunting tunes throughout the night.

Hundreds of students and parent volunteers were involved. Dwyer students made props during art classes and others played music that evening. HBHS students volunteered their time to scare others during the tour. Parent volunteers built everything, provided hair, makeup, and costumes, and were some of the scariest clowns and zombies you've ever seen! It was truly a blast and we hope it will become an annual fundraising event.

A big thank you goes to Erandy Matejka and her team of volunteers. We would never have pulled off this amazing feat without them!
