History Club Movie Series: ELIZABETH
Wednesday, October 18th @ 6:30 pm
Sage 1210
In 1558 Elizabeth was elevated to the throne of England after her half-sister, the Catholic queen Mary I, died of cancer. The remarkable period of instability and intrigue that followed Elizabeth I's coronation is the subject of the excellent 1998 film Elizabeth.
Nominated for seven Academy Awards and starring the remarkable Cate Blanchett (with a supporting cast including Richard Attenborough, John Gielgud and Joseph Fiennes), Elizabeth captures a key transitional moment in England’s history.
Screened in Sage 1210 and in conjunction with History 373, Elizabeth will begin at 6:30 after an introduction provided by Professor Mick Rutz.

Framed: The Adventures of Zion Man
Alumni Welcome & Conference Center
Framed is inspired by the true story of Walter Kahn, a 12-year-old Jewish boy growing up in Nazi Germany, who creates a Superhero Universe to survive the anti-Semitic bullies at school. He’ll need all his superpowers when he takes a stand against Hitler in this short film that blends live action and animation.
