A word from the WC Prevention Volunteer- Heather Youngpeter
With the holidays and break approaching, a little relaxation is something many of us want. Most people want to find time to relax, but with everyone so busy these days, there is not much time to take care of ourselves. Something easy that anyone can do to relax is deep breathing. If you are feeling stressed, try to take a few deep breaths and visualize positive thoughts. Follow this link (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4BLlbmwMVto)
One of my favorite things to do to relax is working out. Exercising for thirty minutes can make me feel so much better and as if I can accomplish all I need to without worrying as much.
Yoga is also a great technique to calm your body and mind down after a long day. Yoga instructions can be found online or by getting a video from the store. I have included a link below to try. Follow this link (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HmZFwoUU3WQ)
Doing something for ourselves is something we forget about, which can make a huge impact in one’s life. A few minutes a day of self-pampering could make you feel as if you can take on the world. Remember, getting the right amount of sleep can help make life less stressful. A tip for falling asleep is putting the technology away before bed (including your cell phone). This should help you get a better rest. It’s surprising what a difference relaxing can make!
