New York in the Middle Colonies

How did we come about?

In 1664 England established the Middle Colonies, but before we were with England we were with the Dutch. They called us New Amsterdam, then the British took over our land and they renamed us New York after the Duke of York. Then the Dutch regained control of New York and renamed it New Orange, but only for a short time because they ended up giving it back to the British. Today we still have Dutch and British influence in our culture.
