Pope Francis Emphasizes Service On Trip To U.S.

“Faith makes us know that God is at our side, that God is in our midst and his presence spurs us to charity. Charity is born of the call of a God who continues to knock on our door, the door of all people, to invite us to love, to compassion, to service of one another.” Read more below.

PARENTING

Sleep!

There's no doubt that we, as parents and/or teachers, often don't get enough sleep. However, it's also clear that many of our students are not getting enough sleep. Please see the article below with really interesting information. Here are some highlights:

On gadgets: "Move electronics out of the bedroom or use special software to minimize their impact."

On quantity of sleep needed: "10 to 13 hours per day for preschoolers, nine to 11 for kids between ages 6 and 13, and eight to 10 hours for teens."

As we use Chromebooks more and more, please be vigilant about your children's use of them at home, especially after bedtime!

Church Festival!

Please come out to the parish grounds on Sunday, October 4th, to enjoy lots of family fun, great food, and fellowship! It will take place from noon to 8:00 p.m.

Thanks to the many of you who have already signed up to help out with our booth that day!

CBCs and Chaperoning

Please note that all parents who wish to chaperone must have a current, valid CBC on file with our school office.

Hope For The Future Second Collection

The Special Collection for October 11th is in support of Hope for the Future and the Catholic schools and students within our community. Your support will help fund tuition assistance and grants for the 43 schools in the Archdiocese of San Antonio. Please go to Mass on Sunday, 10/11 and donate for the Second Collection.

Overdrive = Amazing Access To Books!

All of the students in 2nd-8th grade will now have access to the Overdrive app. This app allows them to check out e-books from the public library system. If your student has a library card, please send the card to school on Monday so that the teachers can set up the Overdrive account for your student. If your student does not have a library card, please take the time to go to the library so your student has access to this wonderful resource.

Student Of The Month & Witnessing Resilience Awards

These will be presented to students after Mass this Wednesday.
