Beyond Powerpoint
to Present Instructional Content
Alternatives to Powerpoints
I wanted to show you several different types of digital presentation tools that will enhance instruction. These will include Prezi, Powtoon, Nearpod, Smore, and Sway. These tools can be created by both teacher and student.
Questions to Ponder:
1. What is it we want our students to learn?
2. How will we know if each student has learned it? (http://rubistar.4teachers.org/index.php)
3. How will we respond when some students do not learn it?
4. How can we extend and enrich the learning of students who have demonstrated proficiency?

Check out the ones that I made so you can get an idea of how it works:
-5th grade reading passage (just gives you an idea-not finished)
Additional tools for presentations:
ThingLink - ThingLink is a free, web-based tool and app that allows the user to upload an image and create interactive links to text, music, video, sound and weblinks.
eMaze - A nice site that is a cross between Prezi and PP that allows users to zoom around their presentation. Best of all, a finished presentation can be embedded into a site.
Haiku Deck - A amazing iPad app for creating beautiful looking presentations w/ the ability to upload Creative Commons licensed photos as well as creating charts and graphs.
Animoto - One of the most popular sites/apps for creating beautiful looking slideshows w/ an educational portal.
Please keep students in your rooms!
Keep students engaged and working. We have benchmarks coming up and we need to prepare them.
