IV Hybrid Schedule Information

Principal's Message
Dear Indian Valley Family,
At Monday night's Governing Board Meeting, our school board approved a plan for opening our schools and bringing students back to campus in a hybrid model for in-person learning. They also approved the following timeline:
SDC, TK/ Kindergarten February 16
1st-5th Graders February 22
6-8 Graders 5 days after the county returns to red tier
At this time I will not be providing an opportunity for parents to change their class placement requests due to our set classes, however, I always recommend reaching out directly to me with individual situations and I will always do my best to meet the needs of your child.
We will be transitioning to our half-day schedule for Kindergarten starting 2/16 and for Grades 1-5 starting on 2/22. Please note all student in grades 1-5 will remain in a full day Remote schedule until 2/22. Our bell schedule is very complicated based on staggered times and flipped schedules. You can view a copy of the bell schedule HERE.
We will also be transitioning our supply pick up days to only Wednesdays. All outside visitors will be restricted from entering our school gates on days when children are present. Please help spread the word that we will have students on campus from 8:15am-2:40pm and KOC will run their program for a small cohort group of students and therefore, outside visitors are not allowed on campus for the safety of all.
The following information applies only to families returning to in-person learning:
Please view the district safety video below. Additionally, to prepare for a return to campus we will be releasing a number of documents and tools to ensure your family feels comfortable with the changes that will be made to our school campus. You will receive an email from InformedK12 requiring you to view a district safety video and confirm you agree. This will need to be completed prior to your child’s return to school. Check your spam folder if you have not already received an email from InformedK12.
Below, you will see several videos and resources to help you and your child prepare for this transition. All parents will receive a welcome letter from your teachers with classroom specific information.
For planning purposes, I also wanted to share a copy of our drop off/pickup location map. The spirit of this document is to try stagger arrival/dismissal locations. However, if you have siblings, you are welcome to drop them off at the same location. We just ask you to inform your teacher of this change. Please also inform your teacher if your student will be dismissed to KOC following their class time. All students will enter and exit the classrooms from the exterior doors and KOC students will exit class from the interior hallways where they will be greeted by KOC staff to check them in, handwash and proceed to their program in their designated cohort groups.
Lastly, I want to convey my appreciation for the support we have received from our parent community regarding reopening. We are trying to prepare for a new type of school we have never experienced so please have patience especially the first week of school. We are so excited to take our first step towards returning to normal.
Sincerely,
Milissa Banister
Principal

Handwashing Stations, Hand Sanitizers and Bottle Filling Stations located around campus
Good Hygiene is very important!
All classrooms have sinks with soap and water as well as their own hand sanitizing dispenser. In addition, we have filtered bottle filling stations in both the upper/lower wings of the campus and MPR. Free standing hand washing stations and hand sanitizers are also located around campus so there is always a place to wash or clean your hands.
We have extra masks for students and staff so everyone can be protected.
Masks are important! Thank you for helping your child practice proper mask wearing
