Playground Update Meeting
TLIM Lead Time Begins Monday
Reminder that Monday begins our school-wide LEAD time where we are directly teaching the 1st habit of being "Proactive". The LEAD time needs to be an agreed upon grade level lesson that is taught for at least 30 minutes on Monday. We plan to focus and reinforce the habit of being proactive throughout the week. Please make sure to upload your lesson to your team's Leader In Me folder.
Recess and Lunch Reminderrs
* Please make sure you have the walkie-talkie turned on and on the "Pathfinder" channel.
* Please make sure that it is not ALL substitutes covering recess duty.
* Use green lunch count slips for subs doing lunch counts and attendance. These were given out to everyone at the beginning of the year, and if you need additional slips...please grab some from the office!

First Quarter Grading Window
Reminder when entering comments on your report cards:
Please make comments for all of your students. Thoughtful comments that support the reporting of standards only enriches the understanding of anyone who looks at report cards. (ie. parents, students, and other schools). Generic comments are not necessary and are typically very transparent to those reading the report cards.
In addition, you will be required to report each student's "Instructional Reading Letter Level" in the comment section. Please have teachers use this comment for consistency and fill in the appropriate letters for their grade and individual student.
Comment Template:
Your child's instructional reading level is ______. By the end of the school year, the grade level expectation is _______. Your child's goal for next quarter is _____________________.Kindergarten Example:
Your child's instructional reading level for 1st quarter is Below A. The end of year instructional reading level expectation for this grade is D/E. Your child's instructional reading goal for next quarter is B.
3rd Grade Example:
Your child's instructional reading level for 1st quarter is L. The end of year instructional reading level expectation for this grade is P/Q. Your child's instructional reading goal for next quarter is N.
5th Grade Example:
Your child's instructional reading level for 1st quarter is Above W. The end of year instructional reading level expectation for this grade is V/w. Your child's instructional reading goal for next quarter is to focus on deeper comprehension of non-fiction texts.
Leadership Lunch
Please make sure to nominate a child from your classroom for our October Leadership Lunch that will take place Friday, October 21st.
Improvement Teams (October 19th)
The purpose of Pathfinder Instructional Improvement Teams:
To improve teaching and learning
Ensure that all learning and learners are accelerated on a continuous basis
During our PLC Day on October 19th we will begin identifying our improvement cycles and begin our 5 step improvement team process focusing on creating our timeline for the improvement cycle and create the pre assessment for the improvement cycle:

Select instructional strategies
Review results indicators

Trunk or Treat....WE NEED TRUNKS
This Wednesday will be a fun week as we gear up for our 5th annual Trunk or Treat. Please begin planning with your grade level or content team regarding your trunk. If you have a parent or an organization that still wishes to sponsor a trunk, please have them contact Heather Schuller.
