Middlebrook Mountain Lions May 5, 2023

Dear Middlebrook Families

Our International Festival was once again a huge success. There was an amazing turnout with a lot of food and entertainment.

Thank you to the International Festival Committee, the entire PTA and Father's Club, our custodial staff, parent volunteers and all the donations.

Tree Saplings

Fifth grade students were thrilled to get a live tree of their very own to take home this week. The red maples were provided by the group, Sustainable Trumbull. Hope Lange, a former Middlebrook student, gave a presentation to our classes, and students were able to take part in the discussion of how trees benefit our lives and our planet.

Moving/Changing Schools?

If you will be moving / changing schools for the 2023-24 school year, please let your child's classroom teacher and the Middlebrook office know. This will help make a smooth transition for your child and allow time for staff to prepare necessary paperwork.

VISION OF A GRADUATE

As Dr. Iwanicki communicated in her parent letter during the first trimester of school, Trumbull Public Schools is committed to fostering and supporting the TPS Vision of the Graduate. Please use the following link to review this prior communication: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1zhcwMKOldbKndTZWu8zpGbBeTI_2RjL26QCbRex1do8/edit

Our Vision of The Graduate mission states, “Trumbull Public Schools, in partnership with the community, strives to meet the educational needs of all students within a challenging and supportive academic environment that empowers each student to become a life-long learner and to live and participate in a democratic, diverse and global society.” With this in mind, Trumbull Public Schools believes in a shared, collaboratively created vision of success for all students in our district. We work throughout the year to ensure all instruction is in service of supporting students to achieve a shared vision of knowledge and skills.

This year, our teachers across the district are piloting the rubric for the skill, Communication, and the reflection form for the disposition, Growth Mindset in grades Kindergarten through 12. Please use the following link to learn more about how Middlebrook students have been engaging in these practices.

Get Involved!

As an all-volunteer group, the Fathers Club is very flexible and appreciates of all contributions of time and/or services parents can give. Getting involved is easy, fun and a great way to be connected with the children and their school.
