George Lucas was the one who started the company. Pixar began in 1979 as the graphic groups, part of the computer division of lucasfilm before it was acquired by apple computer co-founder steve jobs in 1986. Then Walt Disney bought Pixar in 2006 at a valuation of $7.4 billion. Pixar was created in California february 3 in 1986. They created Pixar because they wanted to harness such inventiveness to make a digital technology that could be used in any stage of the filmmaking process, from editing and printing to create computer graphics.
John Lasseter was important because he designed and directed the first attempt at combining computer and hand drawn animation.
The top seller was Toy Story because it had been around for 16 years. The product is popular because it was the computer animated feature film. It is also a top seller because it made $192 million domestically and $362 million worldwide.
