Boosterthon Continues!

Thank you all for your incredible support to our PTA and our school as we raise funds for a Media Center makeover. We are getting closer to our goal! Parents attending the Fun Run should not plan on entering the school for this event. Please ask them to meet your class on the field. Sign-In is not required.

#whatifwecould by Keith Peters

To the teacher who stays late every day making sure that everything’s ready for the next day…

To the paraprofessional who does so much behind the scenes so our children feel loved…

To the office staff who welcome each of our family members with a smile…

To the teacher who pours so much into each day but sometimes wonders if anyone notices or cares…

To the custodian who keeps our school clean and safe…

To the cafeteria workers who work tirelessly to keep our students fed…

To the teacher who attempts new things in an effort to find the best way to reach each student…

To the teacher who finds the traditional methods the best approach to help each student reach their potential…

I want each of you to know how much you are appreciated. And respected. And loved. I can’t say enough how fortunate I feel to work with such an amazing group of people. What you do every day for our students is noticed and recognized by our families, our students, and myself. You are the best!

Planning With A Purpose By Shairin Brown

This week’s focus will be on one of Marzano’s Super 7 Elements

Mariano Domain 2: Element 6- Identifying Critical Content

Desired Effect - Students know what content is important and what is not important.

  • Are your students able to identify critical and non-critical content?
  • Can they explain what is important and why?
  • Strategies:
    • Have students justify answers
    • Turn, Talk and explain
    • Graphic organizers created in collaboration with students
    • Student created work sample
    • Incorporate relevant media
    • Focus on Teacher evidence as listed in Marzano tool
