Principal's Message
It's so exciting to be back together as a community. Thank you to everyone who has been so warm and welcoming. I am really enjoying getting to know the students.
It is an exciting time of year, meeting a new teacher, making new friends and learning new routines. All of these new routines take time and patience. Thank you for everything you do to help your child make the transition to the new school year a smooth one. We want to make this year a great one for your child.
Please join us at Back to School Night on September 17th. The details for this event are below in the Upcoming School Events section. This event is a chance to learn more about what your child will be learning this year and what are the expectations for their grade level.

SERVICES OFFERED FOR TALENTED AND GIFTED (TAG) STUDENTS
Parents are welcome to refer their child for services designed for students identified as talented and gifted. Students who score at or above the 97th percentile on a nationally standardized, norm-referenced test of overall reading or math or on a mental abilities test, and have other confirming evidence that they learn at a rapid rate and advanced level, are identified as TAG students. With parent input, individual plans are made to adjust the rate and level of the student’s instruction to meet his or her specific needs.
If you think your child may qualify for TAG services and want information about the referral and identification process, please contact Laura Nicholas.

Meet Mr. Nguyen
Hi Families and Students!
I’m Mr. Nguyen and I am a graduate student at Portland State University. I will be helping Mrs. Anderson this upcoming school year as a counseling intern. Some of my hobbies include camping, hiking, and playing basketball. I am most looking forward to building relationships with students, teachers and parents of Ladd Acres Elementary! My goal is to learn and provide support in any way that I can. See you soon!
