Big image

This month we have been making preparations for two events: MusicThon at Dadeland Mall and the Holiday Recital. There is also information about important dates, helpful reminders, studio closures and other happenings in the studio. As always, I am so thankful to have your families as part of my studio on a daily basis.

Holiday Recital 2015

Don't forget to join us for the Holiday Recital on December 13th at 3pm and 5pm at M.I.A. Dance Factory. We have several students performing in two recitals. Each performing student will be assigned to perform in one recital. This is a good opportunity for students to show off their performance skills as well as for students to observe the event before deciding to participate sometime in the future. Everyone is invited, please join us!

Come support 6 students who will be performing for MusicThon on Saturday December 5th at 5:30pm at Dadeland Mall. The event is sponsored by Steinway Gallery of Miami and the Miami Music Teachers Association. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Miami Children's Health Foundation, the fundraising arm of Nicklaus Children's Hospital (also formerly known as Miami Children's Hospital. Please come out and support the student performers!

Warm-up before you actually sing

Why warming up is important for singers

1. Think of warming up as "waking" up your chords

2. Your vocal chords are actually a muscle that needs to be warmed up just like any other muscle in the body.

3. Helps you focus and concentrate on vocal technique

4. Humming first before singing helps you warm up safely

5. Develop low, middle, and high vocal registers plus develops a wider vocal range

Tuition Time

December tuition is due the first week of December. (1st day until the 10th of each month). Tuition remains the same each month. Most months include 4 classes. Months with only 3 classes are balanced with months of 5 classes.

Make-up Lessons

The instructor will do his best to schedule make-up lessons on a later date depending on what is available. Please note that not all missed lessons are guaranteed to be made up. Classes are either scheduled during the time slot when another student misses their class or missed time is added to regular classes over a period of 2-3 weeks. Unfortunately, there are no refunds or credits for missed classes or make-up classes that could not be scheduled.

Students who are ill are advised not to come to lessons. Please note that not all missed lessons can be made up. The instructor will do his best to schedule a make-up class or add missed time gradually to regular lessons.

Please cancel at least one week in advance or at least one day before your lesson, or at least 2 hours before your lesson due to illness or other events
