Before You Checkout
Any items confiscated throughout the semester by Residence Life must be picked up by 6:00pm on May 16 or it will be disposed of by Residence Life staff.
Please remove all trash from your room and check to ensure you have removed ALL belongings from your room. Doing this will help make the checkout process easier!
Students must reset the furniture in their room to how it was in August at move-in. This includes re-bunking the beds in all rooms in Ellinwood Hall. Failure to reset the room will result in an administrative fee.
All mini-refrigerators and microwaves MUST be taken with you. There is a fee associated with removing and recycling refrigerators. They CANNOT be donated or thrown in the dumpster!
If items are left behind in a bedroom or common room, students will be billed for removal of all items. If any area becomes a dumping ground for unwanted items, ALL students in the suite will be billed equally for removal of items. Please utilize the dumpsters outside of A-E and Hunter Hall.
Check Out Process
There will only be one checkout option due to the college closure. This will ensure all belongings have been removed from the room- Help us, help you remember all of your items!
For this "full" checkout, a Residence Life staff member will go with the student to do a preliminary room inspection. This will be a brief inspection where the Residence Life staff member will check to ensure all items have been removed from the room and areas of the common room.
This will give students the opportunity to correct any issues in the room before leaving. Additional damage assessment may occur during closing inspections and be assessed to the student's account.
*Students Participating in Commencement
Graduating students must move out of their residence hall rooms by 6:00pm on May 18.
Students who are not graduating will not be allowed to stay in housing through commencement. Volunteers for the ceremony have already been selected. No exceptions will be made.
