Ben Franklin In His Early Years
Ben was a self made man and he rose from the poverty of his childhood home. Mr. Franklin was one of 17 children and his parents were simple candle makers in Boston. Benjamin quit school early to go work as an apprentice at age 12. He journeyed to Philadelphia to seek his fortune which he found.

Ben Franklin's Contributions
Ben Franklin came to be a diplomat and had talent in negotiating. He used these skills to make a difference and contribute to his country. Benjamin became an agent of the Pennsylvania assembly and lived in London to represent their interests.
Other contributions;
- Founded University of Pennsylvania
- Founded the first public library in America
- Helped found the American Philosophical Society
Poor Richards Almanack
An almanack is a somewhat like a newspaper it had calendar, calculated the tides, had the weather for the year, calculated the phases of the moon, claimed the weather forecast for the year, and provided advice. This almanack was a big success for Franklin.
