Ultimate Book Challenge Permission Form 2019-2020
The Ultimate Book Challenge books for this school year are listed below. All books are available for checkout through the library.
- 13-Story Treehouse by Andy Griffiths
- The City of Ember by Jeanne DuPrau
- The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane by Kate DiCamillo
- Love that Dog by Sharon Creech
- Out of My Mind by Sharon Draper
- Slacker by Gordon Korman
- Wedgie and Gizmo by Suzanne Selfors

We are looking for parents who would like to participate in the competition by competing on a parent team. Parent team members must be willing to read at least two of the UBC books, be available on December 19th, and be ready for friendly competition against some of Granger's most enthusiastic readers! If you are interested in joining the parent team, please contact Shawntay Hammonds at ghammonds@nisdtx.org or Diana Brodeur at dianabrodeur18@gmail.com.
Fourth Grade Author Visit with HJ Ralles
On Thursday, September 26th, author H.J. Ralles will be visiting our fourth graders to share a presentation on Cabeza De Vaca and conduct a writing workshop. Our PTA is sponsoring book sales so fourth grade students have the opportunity to purchase a copy of a book and have it autographed by the author during her visit. Please click here for a PDF copy of the order form. If you would like to order a book, we ask that you return the book order and payment by Thursday. Checks should be made payable to Kay Granger PTA. If you have questions, please contact librarian Shawntay Hammonds by phone at (817) 698-1158 or by email at Ghammonds@nisdtx.org.
We look forward to our visit with H.J. Ralles on Thursday!
