MOA's Coding Yetis made it to the STATE Championship!
The students were to code a Lego Robot that had to complete "missions". Points were earned by the successful completion of missions executed in a 2-minute 30-second time frame. The team was also required to develop an Innovative Project related to this year's competition theme - Cargo Connect. The students designed a helicopter drone that could deliver goods of up to 500 pounds to homes and businesses living in remote areas of the country - places that are difficult to reach via a traditional delivery truck.
Our Team Members range from 8 to 13 years old. Our student members are Jadon Anderson, Dean Bragg, Laycee Bragg, Allie Killen, Rachel Killen, Siosiua Moala, Erling Swensen, and Otto Swensen. The team is coached by Sallie Johnson and parent, Chelsea Swensen. Erling is our team caption. Our coders were Erling, Otto, and Siosiua. Laycee led the team in the development of the Innovative Project and presentation.
Congratulations, Coding Yetis!!

We will also discuss the upcoming Oregon State Assessment. We will discuss the schedule and options for taking the test. I hope you can make it!
