George Lucas

For those of you that don’t know who George Lucas is, he is an American film director, screenwriter, producer, and entrepreneur. He founded Lucasfilm and led the company as chairman and chief executive before selling it to The Walt Disney Company on October 30, 2012. George Lucas was born May 14, 1944 in Modesto, California.

I think George Lucas is an american hero because he wrote “Star Wars”,and that is really awesome. Pretty much everyone in America has heard of “StarWars” even if they haven't seen it. Movies were kind of sucking for a while, but in the 70s everything changed. At first no one made a big deal about George Lucas or stuff he did but when “Star Wars A New Hope”, came out in theaters in 1977 and people went to see it they went crazy, everybody wanted more. They were amazed at the graphics and the storyline and it wasn’t long before everyone knew the name George Lucas.

After that he kept going and he made two more movies “Star Wars The Empire Strikes Back” ,and “Star Wars Return Of The Jedi”. After that everybody thought he was done with the Star Wars movies and He moved on to making other movies such as “Indiana Jones ,and “Willow”. In 1999 he came out with “Star Wars The Phantom Menace”, and again he made two more movies “Star Wars Attack Of The Clones”, and “Revenge Of The Sith”.

The Star Wars trilogies were the most important movies he made and were also the most famous. George Lucas also wrote other less famous but very well done movies, one of the first movies was “American Graffiti”. So I think he did a lot for America by making movies that people have loved for a long time and will keep loving.

This I believe personal essay

I think heroes in movies and on tv are awesome but I believe real heroes can be even cooler. They are the people that help others without even thinking about it. I feel like I have known a lot of heroes in my life but to me the most important is my hero my brother Woody. He is 13 months older than me and we have been through everything together.

When I was 6 our mom died and after that our dad just wasn’t the same. We fought when we were little, but as the years went by the less my dad did the more my brother did. When my dad stopped cooking dinner Woody cooked dinner every night. When I was younger I didn’t talk to Woody about my problems as much as I do now, but now I tell him everything because I know he won’t judge me no matter what I say. He is really good at solving problems, he doesn’t want to get mad or emotional or freak out. If there is a problem he will talk about it and figure out what to do.

The person I look up to the most in my life is Woody because he is the only person in my life that has always been there and also because at times he was all I had. On his sixteenth birthday he drove our dad to the V.A. Hospital in Asheville and the next day we found out our dad had liver cancer. Woody did everything he could to take care of our dad while he was sick. He got a job and tried his best to provide for me and our dad but our dad died anyway.

After our dad died we moved around for a while but we ended up staying in Rutherford County. We had to go to different schools but I hated the kids on my bus so Woody would drop me off before he went to school and pick me up when he got out of school. One time on his way to school after dropping me off our van caught on fire and he got out just before it blew up and that made me realize how important he really was to me and that if I lost him I would be all alone.

When they brought us to Crossnore he was trying to calm me down and I was freaking out but the thing that made me hate Crossnore and everyone in it (when I got here) was that they took Woody somewhere else. When I talked to him on the phone and had visites with him he was always trying to tell me everything was gonna be okay and get better but at the same time his life sucked because his foster parents were bad people and I still hate them for the way they treated him.

In the summer two days before his birthday he came to Crossnore and since then things for both of us have been a lot better. He is in stepping stones and we both work at the sales store. Even though we are getting older he still does the best he can to give me whatever I want ( I’m kind of spoiled ). For everything Woody has done for me and been there for he is and will always be my Hero.
