1st quarter at Fremont

Our Open House, ELL family night and 3rd and 4th grade GMP family nights were all a success! We love welcoming our families in to see the wonderful things going on at Fremont! This year, we are dedicating instructional time each week to support the social and emotional needs of our students, using the Random Acts of Kindness curriculum. Check out the bulletin board in the front hall for examples of Fremont students demonstrating kindness!

Parking, Crosswalks, Speed Limit and Safety

Staff are on supervision duty each morning at 7:45am. Please drop off students between 7:45am and 7:55am. The safest way to drop off your student is to pull through the driveway kiss and go lane. Please pull up past the cones and over to the right side so your child can safely exit on to the curb. If you need to enter the building, please park in a visitor spot or, if you have proper credentials, the handicapped spots. Please do not park in the fire lane, which includes the whole curb on the right side. Please model safety for all children by using the crosswalks on El Camino and Toro, El Camino and Sonata, or the 3 crosswalks in front of the building, and follow directions of our crossing guards. We appreciate you adhering to the speed limit and want to ensure you that we are working with our district security, city traffic engineers and CSPD to ensure the safety of all.

Parent Teacher Conferences

We invite you to sign up for a conference for each of your children at Fremont using Sign Up Genius, the online scheduling tool. If you did not receive an email invitation to sign up from your child's teacher, please contact them to set up a conference. We will be holding conferences the evening of October 24 and all day on October 25. Please note, there is no school for students on October 25 or 26.

Fremont Book Fair!

Did you know? Reading just 20 minutes a day exposes your child to about 1.8 million words per year. Reading helps students develop a stronger vocabulary, and in addition, students who read for pleasure average higher grades in English, mathematics, science, and history!

Encourage your child to read books for fun by attending our upcoming Scholastic Book Fair. Allow your child to choose the books they want to read! It’s a wonderful selection of engaging and affordable books for every reading level.

Our Lunch with Someone Grand event on Tuesday, October 24, allows students to invite grandparents or someone whom they consider “grand” to join them for shopping at the book fair, followed by lunch. A detailed flyer was sent home in Thursday’s folder last week. If interested, please detach and send the RSVP form to school so we have an accurate attendance count and meal preparation number. We will also use this RSVP to add your student(s) to the recess dismissal list where they will meet their “grand” at the book fair rather than head to recess.

If you are unable to attend the fair in person, we invite you to visit our Scholastic Online Fair at scholastic.com/fair. The online fair is available October 19-28, 2018.

We look forward to seeing you and your family at our Book Fair. Remember, all purchases benefit our library. Thank you for supporting our readers!

Fremont fundraiser coming October 29th! Be on the lookout for a packet with details.

School Accountability Committee and Parent Teacher Association

On the 2nd Tuesday of each month, we invite you to attend our School Accountability Committee (SAC) meeting at 4:30pm, followed by our Parent Teacher Association (PTA) meeting at 5:00. We value your input on what's happening at Fremont and appreciate your support of our teachers!
