Spotlight on: MORNING MEETINGS!!

Big picture

Dear Pine Run Parents,

At Pine Run we are committed to creating a warm, welcoming, and positive learning environment for our children. Morning Meetings are one way we achieve this goal. Morning Meetings are classroom gathering that promote student wellness and learning habits. They provide "soft landings" to the academic day by preparing, engaging, and motivating our students. Morning Meetings help build a strong sense of community, and set children up for success both socially and academically.

Each morning, students and teachers gather together to interact with one another through:

1. GREETINGS

2. SHARING

3. TEAM-BUILDING ACTIVITIES

4. MORNING MESSAGES

Morning Meetings also teach critical skills that continue to be developed throughout the school day. Morning Meetings:

  • Allow students to ease into school routines and to feel safe taking risks as they learn
  • Set the tone for respectful and skillful communication
  • Create positive classroom communities where trust is fostered and all students can feel a sense of belonging
  • Merge social, emotional, and academic learning to optimize productivity and wellness
  • Allows for goal setting and reflection

By fostering interpersonal skills and continuous growth, Morning Meetings help ready students for a happy and healthy day of learning!!

Happy September!

Dr. Mumford

DON'T MISS CAREER EXPLORATION at Pine Run Elementary ON Twitter @PineRunElem

Big picture
Beginning in kindergarten and through 12th grade, students are learning about professions and career options during their daily lessons. Whether they are reading about environmental scientists, crafting structures like an architect, experimenting with colors like an artist, or solving problems like an engineer, they are building both skills and knowledge used by working professionals. We are excited to highlight out Pine Run Students this year as they learn and grow through Career Exploration!
