Drop Off and Pick Up Reminders

K/1 Doors: Please do not block the driveway...especially at pick up. Please do not park in the driveway leading into the St Germaine parking lot. You must park in an actual spot.

2/3 Doors: Please be patient and wait in line when dropping off your students. Do not cut in front of another car so you can drop your child off.

4/5 Doors: Please do not pull up going Eastbound on 99th Street and walk your children across this very busy street. Pull up far enough if you want to watch your child until they get in the building. If you don't you will block everyone else trying to drop off their kids.

Save the Date: March 9th

Please consider joining us at the March 9th PTA meeting. Our Superintendent and other District Administrators will be coming to discuss what is happening and upcoming in the future of District 123. We meet in the Teacher's Lounge on Wednesday, March 9th at 6:30pm

Early Spring Concert Coming Up!

Our next concert is coming up for grades 2,3 and Chorus! The date is Thursday March 10th at 1:30. You will see in today's Take Home Tuesday the form requesting early dismissal for students in the show. Please fill out and return no later than March 9.

We are also so excited to welcome Mrs Roberts class to the concert as well! The entire class had to miss their show in December. A big thank you to Mrs Hemminger for helping this class learn new songs to sing in front of an audience.

Our final concert for 4th, 5th and Chorus will be May 13th.

WE NEED YOUR HELP!!!!

Please taken a few minutes to give us your thoughts in the 5 Essentials Survey. A few more families did it last week so we are now at 11%!! We have to have 20% in order for the feedback to be given to us. Only 9% to go!! I promise it will only take about 5 mins.

Please complete the form found at: d123.org/five. You and your identity and survey responses will be kept completely confidential and anonymous.

CoVid Updates

WOW! So much has happened since last Tuesday Take Home!!

*Masking is now STRONGLY RECOMMENDED but not required for all students, staff and parents. If students take the bus for band or any other reason, they are still required to wear a mask.

*Close contacts no longer need to quarantine or get a negative CoVid test, although that would also be strongly recommended. We will notify you if you are a close contact, but it is just for your information.

*Positive cases will still need to quarantine for 5 days. After 5 days they may return and will no longer have to be separated at lunch time.

*When students are quarantined, they will be given work for someone to pick up in the foyer of school. Students will get in invitation to a Homework Help Google Classroom to log on between 3:30 and 4:30 to get assistance from a Hannum staff member for work that they are struggling with. They just need to log on during that time and someone will be available to help them while they are quarantining.

SHIELD Illinois

FYI.... We have a new testing day. Hannum will now test on Tuesdays. We get results anywhere from early the next morning until Thursday. We will always try to call you with a positive test as soon as we know. If we get results early in the morning, we will attempt to contact you before school begins.

The SHIELD Illinois program is a quick, simple, and non-invasive COVID-19 screening test. Students that have opted-in to the program will provide a small amount of saliva that is tested at a professional lab. Results of the test are then provided to families and our school district within the days following. The program offers students the opportunity to reduce or waive quarantine requirements in the event of close contact with a positive case or if the student demonstrates symptoms. You can opt-in to the program at any time by accessing Online Forms in Skyward Family Access. More information about the SHIELD Illinois program can be found at: d123.org/shield-illinois-testing-program

It now looks like depending on when you signed your child up, they may not be able to test until the following week.
