LRU Part-time Faculty Member in History Produces Documentary

LR Alumnus Mark Hager, History Professor at Lenoir-Rhyne University, to seek answers for himself. He spent three summers in Arizona researching the border crisis and, specifically, the impact of transnational drug cartels. On his fourth trip last summer, he embarked on a complete assessment of the 1,900 mile Mexican border and produced an award-winning documentary entitled The Border States of America. LRU Adjunct Professor of Liberal Studies publishes essay on "Star Wars"

Dr. Amy Sturgis, adjunct professor of Liberal Studies at Lenoir-Rhyne University, recently published an essay entitled, "Star Wars, Remixed: George Lucas' Universe Is a Mashup Masterpiece.” It is featured in the January 2016 issue of Reason Magazine, both in the hard-copy edition and online format. Another Reminder - Complete Spring Enrollment Verification for All of your Classes

If you have not already... verify your enrollment via MyLR immediately after your first week of class (watch for an email from the Registrar with more detailed directions on how to do this important task if you need them). Thanks!

Here are the quick steps: to completing Enrollment Verification Online:

  1. Log in to your myLR account.
  2. Select the Classes tab.
  3. Select the Grading sub-tab.
  4. Select Attendance (in the toolbar on the left side of the screen).
  5. Under the correct Year and Term, select the Course for which you are verifying attendance.
  6. Select the highlighted link View Overall Section Attendance (in the middle of screen, just under the course information.
  7. Under the column labeled Overall Attendance, select the enrollment status for each student. The Last Date Attended box should only be filled in for students who Stopped Attending.
  8. When you have selected the enrollment status for each student, at the bottom of the page, simply select Save. The information is then stored in PowerCAMPUS and the Office of Student Success & Retention will begin follow up with students.
  9. Repeat steps 1-8 for each course you are teaching each semester.
