Wingate Elementary
Family Newsletter August 2023
Wingate Families-
I loved meeting so many of you last week when I visited neighborhoods! I met parents and students and loved hearing all the positive things everyone shared about Wingate. From my visits with families and the parent survey I learned that overall Wingate is positive, welcoming, supportive school community where staff truly care about kids and teachers communicate regularly. There really were only two items that came up several times as an area that families thought needed some change: more communication from Administrators and a structured drop off/pick up plan that was enforced.
More communication from Administrators is an easy one. I will send you a monthly newsletter just like this at the end of each month for the following month. It will contain all the dates and times you need for the following month. The second one is a little more difficult. Mr. Reed and I are currently finalizing a drop off/pick up plan that we will share with families prior to the school year beginning. This will be our best plan for the year but we may find that it needs to be adjusted as the year goes on. Please bear with us as we try to create the safest and most efficient plan for students and families using the space we have available.
Enjoy the last few weeks of your summer vacation. I look forward to seeing you in August. Please contact the office if you have any questions.
Take care!
Kim Enriquez
Principal

Open House at Wingate-
All 3 elementary schools in our district will have Open House on the same evening, Monday August 14th. On this evening we ask that you bring school supplies with you. We will start each Open House in the multipurpose room with a short presentation and then introduce teachers at those grade levels. Teachers will then walk to their classrooms, open their doors and when the presentation in the multi-purpose room is over, families will go to classrooms to meet the teacher.
This is a busy night, please follow the times for your grade level and do not arrive more than a few minutes early. Teachers will not be available until after the presentations.
