Message from Dr. McDade
We have been thinking a lot about our elementary students and the impact that the statewide closure of schools will continue to have on them. None of us could have imagined this scenario for the last months of the school year.
In developing the MPCS Continuous Learning Plan, strong consideration was given to giving home access to devices for students in K-5. As much as we would love to distribute devices to our youngest Cougars, a full-scale deployment is not feasible nor safe under the current conditions and restrictions.
Earlier this week, a survey was sent to you. If you haven’t completed it or have not received it, take time to complete the survey here. This information will be valuable as we find the best way to support our elementary students. We are examining options for getting technology access into the hands of students who do not have it, but be assured that a lack of access to technology will not impact the progress of our students.
All students on track to be promoted to the next grade as of March 13, 2020, will be promoted to the next grade. School staff will continue to work closely with parents and students who were identified for possible retention prior to March 13, 2020 to assist the student in meeting promotion standards.
The most important message we want to send to you is this: all of us at MPCS want you and your child to feel supported. Please reach out to your child’s teacher and school counselors for assistance or with any questions. We are all in this together.
Principal's Message
Dear Cougar Community,
Next week is Spring Break. During the week we will take time away from our learning plans. I hope you get the opportunity to get outside and spend time with your family during this time. Perhaps you can take a few minutes each day to read a book! The next learning plan will be distributed on April 14.
Please keep the pictures coming! Please send pictures to: ann.gwynn@mpark.net.
I miss seeing everyone everyday!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Gwynn
