STEAM Newsletter
September 2021
From the Office...
Hello STEAM Families,
September... the weather is slowly getting cooler, the sun is setting earlier, and rituals of a new school year are becoming part of our routine. We are so glad that YOU and YOUR FAMILY are part of our STEAM family. We are thankful to have such an incredible school community.
This month, the newsletter contains information on a variety of topics, including our 1:1 initiative, student handbook, and a few other things.
We wish you well!
Dr. Roxanne Pearson - Principal
Dr. TJ Winkelmann - Assistant Principal
1:1 Device Updates
As you know, students at STEAM have a Device Fee for our 1:1 initiative. A technology fee has been applied to your child’s account. If you have already paid these fees for the current school year, you can disregard this information. The fee includes insurance for the device. The fees will be on a sliding scale, based on free and reduced lunch program status. The structure is as follows:
User Fee
Regular pay: $30
Reduced lunch: $20
Free lunch: $10
Payments can be made online by credit card in the Parent Portal. If the fee is not paid, your child(ren) will leave the device at school. Many questions can be answered on the Responsible Usage Agreement website. If you have additional questions, feel free to contact your child’s teacher or the office.
Please contact the office with any questions.

Breakfast/Lunch Reminder from Opaa!
Our School District, in partnership with Opaa! Food Management, is committed to serving quality, nutritious meals to students and staff. Like many other school districts, grocery stores, and restaurants across the nation, we are experiencing supply chain issues and a shortage of delivery drivers.
To inform your decisions about whether to pack a lunch or order school lunch for your children, we encourage you to check our menus daily, as these shortages will cause our menus to change often.
To review the menus, please download the BSD app on your phone and tap the Menus icon, or visit beltonschools.org and the menus can be found on a pop up tab on the right side of the page.
