Welcome Back Eagles!

We hope everyone has had a wonderful summer vacation and ready to kick off a fantastic school year. Teachers will be reporting to campus on Monday, August 2nd to get ready to welcome students back on Wednesday, August 11th. Over the next couple of weeks we will be busy planning and preparing to welcome our Eagles back to school.

First-Fifth Grade parents will need their parent portal username and password to sign in to Focus to see their child's teacher assignment on FRIDAY, AUGUST 6TH. If you need help with your log-in information, please email Kelly Collier at collierke@pcsb.org. PreK and Kindergarten teachers will be making phone calls to families before 8/6. Teacher assignments are final unless we need to make adjustments per class size mandates. A great deal of work is done to build class lists using a variety of factors while also ensuring classes are balanced.

Lastly, 3rd- 5th grade FSA scores were released by the state today. The scores should be visible in Focus on Monday, August 2nd. Student reports are being shipped to the schools and will be sent home with students as soon as possible.

We will be communicating information about opening processes and procedures as the school year approaches. Please make sure to keep an eye out for our News from School email.

Recommended School Supplies

Recommended school supply lists can be found our CWE website (link below).

For those families who ordered school supply kits from 1st Day School Supplies, they will be delivered to your child's classroom before our Meet and Greet event.

Families are encouraged to bring in supplies during our Meet and Greet on 8/9. This will help make the first day of school go smoothly.

Teachers will share any additional "wish list" items in their newsletters or during Open House night.

Meet and Greet - Monday, August 9th

Meet and Greet is a time for students to visit their classrooms, meet their teacher(s), and drop of any school supplies. We hope this will ease any first day jitters and provide time for students to learn where their new classroom is located. Classrooms will only be open during the times listed below so feel free to pop-in anytime during the hour window. Unvaccinated adults are encouraged to please wear a mask while on campus.

First Days Of School

  • Parents will be able to walk their child to the classroom on the first two days of school. However, we highly encourage parents to only walk their child to the building doors on the second day of school or even allow them to walk themselves. Unvaccinated adults are encouraged to please wear a mask while on campus.

  • Beginning on Friday, August 13, parents will not be permitted to walk students to class. We will have plenty of staff during the first week of school to help our Eagles find their classrooms.

  • PLEASE BE SURE YOUR CHILD KNOWS HOW HE/SHE WILL BE GETTING HOME FROM SCHOOL EACH DAY!!! START THIS WAY OF WORK ON DAY #1. If your child is a bus rider, have him/her ride the bus. This prevents confusion and sets routines in place from the start!

Health and Wellness Update

Since March 2020, Pinellas County Schools has successfully followed the health and wellness recommendations of our Medical Advisory Group and the Pinellas County Department of Health. The district has modified protocols as conditions and information changed and will continue to seek and follow sound medical advice.

Pinellas County Schools is committed to providing high-quality instruction and enrichment opportunities for all students, while also maintaining wellness protocols for students and staff. The district anticipates that as the community continues to return to pre-pandemic conditions, that the processes below will also guide the school district’s return to pre-pandemic operations. Any updates will be communicated to all stakeholders.

Transportation Update

Is your child a bus rider? You should receive a postcard in the mail for each eligible rider. Transportation postcards will include the information listed below:

  • Route number
  • Stop location
  • Pick-up and drop off times

If you do not receive a postcard by Friday, August 6th please call our front office at 538-7325 if you plan to have your child ride a bus.
