CAASPP and Physical Fitness Testing coming soon!
- The state mandated Physical Fitness Testing for 5th, 7th and 9th grade students will take place February 27 - March 24. The Physical Fitness test includes the following assessments: Push-ups, Sit-ups, Flexibility, trunk lift, mile run. Please speak with your 5th grade teacher for any questions.
CAASPP - The California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) is the state academic testing program. CAASPP is a system intended to provide information that can be used to monitor student progress and ensure that all students leave high school ready for college and career.
- CAASPP incorporates the Smarter Balanced Assessment Conscortium (SBAC), a standardized test consortium
- Students in 3rd - 8th grade, and 11th grade will take part in the SBAC.
- For Nohl Canyon, SBAC will take place May 8 - May 26
**** Please plan vacations and medical appointments around these dates (specifically 8-10 am each day)
- Students will be assessed in English Language Arts (ELA) and Math. 5th grade students will also take the California Science Test
Parent Workshop Opportunities
The Special Education Department is excited to host monthly one hour parent workshops! These workshops are geared toward offering support and strategies regarding a variety of topics, including:

· Supporting the Behavioral needs of Students with Disabilities

Cell Phone Use - "NO CELL, BELL to BELL"
1) NO CELL from BELL to BELL - cell phones need to be turned OFF and stored in students backpack from first bell to dismissal bell.
2) Students who need to contact parents/guardians are expected to come to the front office to make the phone call.
3) Students who do not follow the guidelines:
1st occurrence: warning - expected to place phone back in backpack
2nd occurrence: cell phone confiscated - Parent Pick-up in office
