FLU SEASON

Dear Parents: Just a friendly reminder with cold/flu season upon us it is time to refresh our hygiene routine to curb the transmission of infection. Alberta Health advises:

  • Frequent hand washing during the day in addition to prior to eating, after blowing/wiping noses or using the toilet.
  • Hand washing with plain soap and water is the preferred method of hand hygiene at school.
  • Students and staff who are experiencing flu like symptoms should refrain from attending school until they have been symptom free for at least 24 hours. This includes fever, diarrhea or vomiting.

If you can give a little of your time to hand out lunches (half an hour) or help in the kitchen (2 – 3 hours) the morning of hot lunch it would help tremendously. Any help is appreciated and this year all helpers are welcome to have lunch after all of the students have been served!

If you would like to start helping out, please text Laura at 780-298-8324 with your grade preference and availability. You will be contacted by Laura Engel directly to confirm dates and times. If you have already signed up as a volunteer you will continue to be scheduled.

PARKING AND STUDENT DROP OFF CONCERNS

PLEASE FOLLOW THE SCHOOL'S STUDENT DROP OFF PLAN: https://www.smore.com/ymfhq

- Malvern street --> west side of the school, is a drop off zone only. Let your child out and go.

- SCHOOL PARKING LOT IS NOT PERMITTED AT ALL.

- PLEASE DO NOT USE THE PARKING LOT TO DROP OFF YOUR CHILD.

- PLEASE park across the street from the school to walk your child in

- THE BUS LANE IS ONLY FOR BUSES.

I have received several reports of close calls of students walking in the parking lot and parents backing out. Staff car doors and a fender have been dinged too.

I am meeting with an outside source to have second look a the parking situation on Monday.

PLEASE, PLEASE FOLLOW THE PLAN. Thank you SO MUCH.
