Henry Middle COVID Update
January 18, 2020
Dear Henry MS families,
We have been notified that an individual(s) on our campus has tested positive for COVID-19. We are working to contact each employee and/or parent/guardian of any student that may have been in close contact with this individual to provide them guidance on the next steps, including quarantine, if necessary.
Close contact is defined as:
- Within 6 ft for at least 15 minutes during the 2 days before the person got sick up until when they began isolation
- Sneezed or coughed on or somehow got the infected person’s respiratory droplets on you
- Rode on a bus with the person for at least 15 minutes during the 2 days before the person got sick up until when they began isolation
- In a classroom with the person for least 15 minutes during the 2 days before the person got sick up until when they began isolation
- Cared for a COVID-19 infected person at home
- Shared eating or drinking utensils with the person
- Had direct contact (touched, hugged, or kissed) with the person
Please note - additional factors like case/contact masking (i.e., both the infectious individual and the potential close contact have been consistently and properly masked), ventilation, presence of dividers, and case symptomatology may affect this determination.
We are providing this notice to maintain open communication; however, due to privacy laws, the campus will not be able to provide specific details. There is no action needed on your part based on this notification. Please know that we continue to monitor closely and follow our safety protocols to keep our students and staff safe during this time.
