Notes from Principal Klueppel...
Teachers are looking forward to meeting with you to talk about how well your child is doing so far. These conferences will feel different from previous conferences for a few reasons, not just because they will be virtual. Teachers have been working with their students to talk about goals the students are setting for themselves in different content areas. You might hear about some of the goals and what the student and teacher are going to do to help the child reach their personal goals. This shift to setting goals with students really works to empower students to see their role in their learning progress. It's a powerful method for students to really understand they plan an active role in their learning.
Just a friendly reminder that your conference is 20min in length. Teachers may be setting a timer for 18min so they can be sure to wrap up your conference before popping onto the next one. If you have unanswered questions after your conference please email your teacher and she will be happy to respond to your questions. Given this virtual format teachers will be even more pressed to stay on schedule this year. Thank you so much for understanding.
Sign-up closes TONIGHT, 10/7/20, at midnight. See additional details below.

This year we are following the Illinois Department Of Public Health (IDPH) Covid-19 Exclusion Guidelines. This requires that when a child or family member stays/sent home sick, with Covid like symptoms, or awaiting the results of a Covid test ANY student or staff in the household will need to stay home or be sent home. Once the symptomatic student or family member has the documentation required all family members can return to school. It is up to the parents to provide this information to all the schools involved.
Please call the Health office 331-228-2104 or Email leeanna.anzaldi@d303.org with any questions or concern.
Self Certification by 7:30 AM
Dear BG Families,
In a continuing effort to keep staff and students safe while also keeping arrival quick and efficient, please have your child certified in the computer by 7:30 am. This will ensure that students are not entering the classrooms before they are cleared. Certifying your child is both filling out the online form AND signing their backpack tag. If one or both of these steps are not done your child will be sent to the front of the building to check in. Once there, they will have their temperature taken and a phone call will be made to parents to fill out the online form. When their certification is verified they can enter the building. If you enter the online form after 7:30 am your child may have to go through this verification process before they can enter the building.
Thank you for all of your help and taking the extra steps to ensure everyone's safety.
