Special Education Boot Camp #2

Best Practices for: Classroom Management, Scheduling, Data Collection, Accommodations/Modifications as Presented in the KAS/IEP Guidelines
This workshop is intended for those SPED teachers who attended Boot Camp #1 and/or those new SPED teachers who were unable to attend session Boot Camp #1 and whose roles are:
- ASD
- MSD
- LD/Resourse
- LD/Collaborative
This will be a hands on workshop with a make and take session provided.
This workshop will included a presentation of researched based practices, along with KAS and IEP information that will support students within special education and general education settings.

SBDM Coordinator and SBDM Endorsement Training
This annual School-based decision making training will be a hands-on approach to policy work and will include updated General Assembly information for 2019, KDE SBDM training module information and updates, TSI/CSI guidance, evidence-based practices, and will serve as a networking opportunity for council coordinators to share what is working within their SBDM councils. This session will also provide KDE SBDM trainer endorsement for the 2019 training year.

DreamFest 2019
The DreamFest Conference is an annual collaboration between NKU's Institute for Talent Development and Gifted Studies and the Northern Kentucky Association for Gifted Education. Held for more than 30 years, the conference brings together gifted students in grades 4-8 to attend breakout and large group presentations.

Principal Certification Program
Participants are currently in our principal certification program. We offer professional development evening every eight weeks. Our program is made up of teachers/educators as well as current administrators in our Option 6 program. We're requesting Professional Dev. hours for our teachers and EILA credit for administrators.
On March 11th and 14th we will have a panel discussion workshop made up of past graduates from our program who are current principals. They will discuss relevant issues such as bullying and current legal issues and how its handled at their schools as well as other prominent issues they face as administrators. The participants will generate questions ahead of time and the panel will discuss these along with questions generated by the facilitators.

This P3 EdCamp is a participant-driven conference - commonly referred to as an "unconference". EdCamps provide participant-driven professional development for principals and educational leaders. EdCamp is a free event. Lunch will be provided to all who register!

Regional Kentucky Academic Standards
With new revised Kentucky Academic Standards (KAS) there is a need to dive into the standards and discuss instructional implications. KDE staff will host meetings in March for district and school leaders to kick off a professional learning series to assist districts with planning and implementation of improved practice and strong instruction around these newly revised standards. The March meetings will showcase the revised Reading/Writing and Mathematics Standards, orient participants to initial planning and team structures that need to be in place at the district and school level and explore the digital platform designed for ongoing professional learning and support.
