A Message from Principal Joshua
Dear Lion Nation,
Spring has arrived and we are excited for all that entails for LSHS. Spring Break! Prom! Senior Activities! Spring Testing! Graduation! We are in our home stretch of preparing our students to finish strong and be ready for their next grade level or college and career if they are a member of the Class of 2022! Diligence and Perseverance are two of the character traits that we have focused on over the last several weeks. I want to encourage you to remind your students about the importance of displaying these traits as they look to finish the school year strong.
Being present at school every day, attending all classes, and completing every assignment given is the recipe for success. We will also be offering EOCT study sessions during the month of April on Saturday April 16th, 23rd, and 30th for all EOCT subjects. We appreciate all of the consistency in your "at home" routines, which help our students manage their school day with all of the tools they can possibly bring with them. Sleep, balanced nutrition, and a continued emphasis on the importance of education is just as important as what they learn during the school day.
Finally, I respectfully request that you take time to complete the DCSS Survey enclosed in this newsletter. This is an opportunity for you to lend your voice as to how the DCSS can continue to improve. Realizing that "Together, we shape the future," it is imperative that we hear directly from you as your opinion matters.
Sincerely,
Mr. Travis Joshua
Tardy to School Information
Please remember school starts at 8:20. Students are given an excused tardy pass only if the student is on a late bus. Late arrivals to school count in total unexcused tardies and will result in disciplinary action.

Parent Survey
It is our mission to continuously improve and we appreciate your partnership in working toward our vision. Your input is vital in the planning and implementation of parent and family engagement programs and activities at our schools. The following survey is confidential and will be used to assist us with future activities. If you need a paper copy of this year’s survey, please contact LSHS and one will be provided for you. The survey will be open through April 10, 2022. It is so important for our school system to hear from you as the major stakeholders in our students' education. We appreciate your feedback and thank you for taking the time to complete this 7 minute survey.
