Dear Families:
Many thanks to all who were able to make it to Back To School Night. I hope that I was able to answer your questions about first grade. If you were unable to make it, I will be sending home a packet of information with your child today. Please make sure to check your child's backpack everyday for information, reading log, and books from school!
The Book Bag program has begun. This program encourages reading at home and responsibility. Book Bags and reading logs go home everyday, and return to school every morning. Reading Logs will be checked daily.
You will find our first homework packet in your child's communication folder today! We have reviewed it in class. Feel free to use the comments section to let me know how it goes this week!
If you did not get a chance to sign up for a Fall Parent/Teacher Conference, the sign-up sheet is on the bulletin board next to the classroom. If none of the available times work for you, please email me and we can figure out a different time to meet.
The volunteer sign up sheet is also hanging up outside the classroom. If you would like to help at a time not listed, please let me know and we can work out a time for you to be in the classroom. I am hoping to find a few parents who would like to help organize and present science lessons every other week.
We are also in need of a weekly library volunteer who would help set up for our classroom library time with Ms. Williams. Our library time is Wednesdays, from 11:45-12:15.
Thank you for all that you do for your kids! They are wonderful!
If you have any questions or concerns, please email me at: susannereed@berkeley.net
Thank you,
Susanne Reed
