October is National Bullying Prevention Month
Every October, schools, and organizations across the country join together in observing National Bullying Prevention Month. NCCA celebrates Bullying Prevention Week October 13 - 16 and your counselor is excited about activities planned on Thursday, October 15th. Acknowledging this month encourages schools, communities, and organizations to work together to stop bullying and cyberbullying and put an end to hatred and racism by increasing awareness of the prevalence and impact of all forms of bullying on all children of all ages.
Check out this great Bullying Prevention Website for more information on National Bullying Prevention Month and some great ideas on how you can be a community leader in stopping bullying.
Updates & Reminders
Benchmarks
- We have almost completed the first quarter of the school year. Moving into a new quarter means refocusing our instruction and analyzing student needs. To do so, we have quarterly benchmark assessments that will inform and prioritize future instruction. These diagnostics will alert us to your studentβs strengths and areas that need more support going forward. Students will take the benchmarks at home. It is critical that students take their time and do their best independent work on these assessments. Please note that benchmark assessments are REQUIRED.
NC Testing Program
Please read and follow the linked directions in this NCTest Program Note from our Testing Coordinator and complete the tutorial as soon as possible to ensure your system is ready for the test. The 1st quarter required benchmark window is October 22nd through October 27th. It is important that students download the appropriate program on their computer. The NC Test program is used for 6-8 Reading, 6-8 Math, and 8th Grade Science assessments. Thank you for your willingness and support in getting this done!
