Community Night of STEAM
Blanton students and staff will be a part of the Community Night of STEAM on January 28 at the Greater Denton Arts Council. We love the STEAM activities we do and skills we build at Blanton and will have the opportunity to share this with our greater Denton ISD community on this night.
What are the goals?
- To provide our students a platform to demonstrate their STEAM knowledge and guide others in completing activities and challenges.
- To allow members from throughout our community to see the fun things that go along with STEAM learning.
- To provide educators the chance to try out new resources, get inspired, and get connected.
- To have fun!!!
We have several groups of 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students who will be leading activities that evening. There are groups from other Denton ISD schools and a TWU group as well! If your student is leading an activity that evening, we will be so excited to see you there! If your student is not leading, we want you and your students to come and join in on the STEAM fun, too! Please see the image below to get more information about this exciting event.
Questions? Please do not hesitate to contact Ms. Krutka at kkrutka@dentonisd.org.

Blanton Career Day is coming May 15th!
We are excited to host a fantastic Career Day again this year at Blanton. Because so many of our parents and community members have been willing to volunteer their time each year, we continue to foster some meaningful community, business and family relationships as well as create fun and educational memories for our students. This day has become one of our favorites!
This year our Career Day will be held on Friday May 15th and we are hoping to add even more presenters to provide ample opportunities for student learning as they develop their career interests.
As we begin to create our schedules for this day, we would like to collect some information from those of you who are interested in participating.
If you are interested and are available on this day, please click here to provide us more information as soon as possible and no later than March 4th.
We are excited about getting our community involved with our school through our Career Day events.
Thank you so much for your support!

EXPO Referrals for Spring
Denton ISD's program for Gifted and Talented students is called EXPO. Gifted and talented students are those who excel consistently or who show the potential to excel in general intellectual ability, specific subject matter aptitude, and creative and productive thinking. These students require educational experiences beyond those normally provided by the regular school program. Students are identified through the use of multiple criteria specified by our district.

Keep Denton Beautiful Opportunity
DB's 32nd Annual Great American Cleanup is Saturday, March 21. Please make plans to join us for Denton's largest and longest-running citywide litter cleanup!
Cleanups will begin at 9 a.m. at locations around Denton (Mrs. Gray will let you know where to meet), followed by a volunteer appreciation party from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Denton Civic Center/Quakertown Park (321 E. McKinney St.).
The volunteer party will feature a free lunch. In addition to lunch, enjoy educational activities, music, kids' bounce houses, and more!
Last year, we had more than 2,400 volunteers register, and cleaned more than 3.5 TONS of trash and recycling from our city's streets, waterways, and public spaces! Help us clean up litter that has accumulated in our community during the winter months. Let's keep Denton clean and free of litter!
*ALL registered volunteers MUST have a completed volunteer release form in order to receive supplies and a t-shirt (first come, first served). Please note that EACH volunteer must complete the release.
Please fill out a Waiver and Return the Release form to Mrs. Gray by March 2nd.
