STAFF APPRECIATION COMING SOON!
Hello Families,
We are getting ready to virtually celebrate our amazing teachers and staff during Staff Appreciation Week, which is May 4-May 8. I am encouraging families to write a note or email to your child's teacher and other staff members. Feel free to send/email the notes to me, and I can distribute them to the appropriate people.
Our staff has worked tirelessly during distance learning, and I want them to feel appreciated!
Sincerely,
Sasha Kalis
GENERAL INFORMATION
2020-2021 Kindergarten Students Wanted!
We are trying to ROUND UP all of the 2020-2021 Kindergarten Roadrunners NOW! Due to the COVID-19 School Closure our annual Kindergarten Round Up will be moved to August, 2020 with a date to be confirmed SOON!
Right now we have just 40 kindergarten students enrolled at Renner Elementary School for the 2020-2021 school year. This enrollment number greatly impacts our staffing plans as we prepare for the 2020-2021 school year and so it is critical to have families enroll their child right away for the 2020-2021 kindergarten class. If you have a child who turns 5 years old on or before July 31, 2020 please access this information below to enroll.
If you have older children attending Renner Elementary School during the 2019-2020 school year, then you just need to add your incoming kindergarten child to your annual Online Verification and Residency Information.

Thank you! I can't emphasize enough how important it is to have as many of our 2020-2021 kindergarten students enrolled by the beginning of May. If you have any questions or need help regarding this process, please reach out to Renner!
Building Hours, Packets and Laptops
Renner will be closed at least until May 22. You can reach us by calling the main number or through email. If you are still in need of a laptop for your K-2 student, please contact the Technology Help Desk at 359-5000. If you need a packet for your child (those not using a laptop), it can be picked up between 11:00 to 1:00 at a food distribution site. Congress is the closest food site to Renner.
Distance Learning Information
Fourth Quarter Report Cards
Fourth Quarter Report Cards will look different based on the COVID 19 school closure.
Here are a few beliefs as we work through this grading process:
- Teachers will report on standards when appropriate to honor the student’s work and provide feedback.
- Distance learning, lack of access to technology, and other barriers to learning should not be reasons for an elementary student's grade to lower in a standard.
- Students should always be extended the benefit of the doubt and given latitude to show evidence of learning and work completion.
- Teachers have permission to provide feedback with flexibility and reasonableness.
