Hawk Talk
Sept. 20th -24th
Carranco's Corner
Hobby family,
As we prepare to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Hobby Middle School on October 19, 2021, please take time to be a part of the 50th anniversary celebration activities planned by our amazing PTA.
Here are a few words from Ms. Katie Cox our PTA fundraising chairperson.
“In 1971, Hobby Middle School opened its doors to students and families, ushering in the first class of Hawks into what would become fifty years of lifetime learners. The sounds of decades past can be heard throughout the hallways where former Hawk students now find themselves as Hawk parents and grandparents. Help us celebrate this milestone achievement by gifting our beloved school with a donation in increments of 50 in return for the 50 years of 'positive purple power' it has so generously given to our local community. Be a continuation of the legacy by making a tax-deductible donation to Hobby PTA. 50 cents, $50, $150...any 50 will do! Fundraiser ends October 19th.”

Counselor Connection
Hobby counselors are continuing our guidance lessons on the meaning and importance of Grit. We encourage you to ask your child if the counselors have visited their class yet and discuss how grit can help them in their life. If you would like to hear more about this, please join the counselors for a Counselor Chat next week.

If you are interested in becoming a mentor to a current Hobby student, please contact Natalie Stridde, Head Counselor, by phone (210-397-6325) or by email (Natalie.Stridde@nisd.net)
