How Luge started

Olympic Event

Inside Luge!!!

Luge is a fast paced event. Luge is a small one or two person sled on which one sleds supine (faced up) and feet first. Steering is done by flexing the sled's runners with the calf of each leg or exerting opposite shoulder pressure to the seat. Racing sleds weigh 21-25 kilograms (46-55 lb) for singles event, but for doubles the sleds are heavier and weigh 25-30 kilograms (55-66).

Men's Singles

The first event happened on February 8,2014 and on that date Felix Loch from Germany won first place. His first run was 52.185, 2nd 51.964, 3rd 51.613, 4th 51.764, and total time was 3:27.526.

My athlete Tucker West was placed 22nd out of 39. Pretty good for him being the youngest athlete in the competition, but his expectations were set high for him so that performance was sub par.

first run- 53.142 2nd-52.966 3rd-52.413 4th-52.696 and total time- 3:31.217.
