DATE/TIME: January 18, 2018 / 5:30-7:00 pm

LOCATION: Pinecrest

You and your child are invited to visit Kindergarten classrooms, meet Kindergarten teachers, turn in registration/enrollment forms, and tour the school.

Please bring completed kindergarten registration forms:

1. A copy of your child's birth certificate. Your child must be five years old on or before September 1, 2018.

2. Proof of early childhood screening. If your child was screened in ISD 200, we will have the screening report on file.

3. Student Registration Form

4. Home Language Questionnaire

5. Student Immunization Form

Kindergarten registration packets will be mailed the beginning of January.

School begins at 8:00 am.

Drop off times are from 7:40 am-7:55 am. Children should not be dropped off before 7:40. If your child is going to breakfast, you may drop off at 7:30 am and have them go directly to the cafeteria.

If you need to drop off before the 7:40 bell, you can enroll your child in Kids Campus. Further information about Kid’s Campus can be obtained from the district’s website, the Pinecrest webpage, or from our office.

Please make sure your child(ren) arrive at school on time. Learning takes place in a carefully arranged environment that begins the minute your child arrives at school. When your child is late, he/she may not feel the connectedness with the class or have the opportunity to absorb learning in the best setting. To maximize instruction time and academic achievement for your child, as well as minimize disruption for the whole class, please avoid tardiness.

Please be sure your child is dressed appropriately for winter weather. Students spend twenty minutes outside for noon recess. Winter coats, gloves or mittens, and hats are required to make their time outside more enjoyable.

If the temperature is below 0º fahrenheit, or the wind chill is around that level, we will keep the students inside during recess.

10 Days of Giving

Hastings Elementary Schools will be collecting food from December 1 - 10

Merchants Bank is coordinating the community's 8th Annual "10 Days of Giving" Food Drive in conjunction with the Holiday Train to help stock the shelves at our local Hastings Family Service Food Shelf.

To give a gift of food, please bring items to the school office collection boxes or Merchants Bank in Hastings.

Welcome the Holiday Train to help Hastings Family Service on Friday, December 8 at 8:30 p.m. CP Depot - 500 East Second Street
