Car Rider Reminders

We have procedures we ask all to follow to ensure the safety of our students. PLEASE do not drop off students or pick up our students in our parking lot or in lanes of traffic, requiring students to cross traffic to reach your vehicle or our doors.

PLEASE do pull up to the curb to drop off and pick up students. Our car rider lines are moving very quickly and efficiently now, and we find the lines move even faster when:

  • Cars with Kindergarten and/or 1st Grade Students drop off Tigers only at the side entrance in the mornings.
  • Cars without Kindergarten/1st Graders drop off Tigers at the main, front entrance.
  • And when parents give Tigers their kisses and say "goodbyes" before we open your vehicle's door so that our Tigers can hop out and be on their way to class quickly.

Discovery/Gifted and Talented Program Information for 2019-2020

The Discovery Program, otherwise known as Gifted and Talented, is now accepting parent referrals for GT Screening via this google form.

Transfer students, who were already identified as GT coming from their previous district, should submit their google form as soon as possible, as the transfer student screening will be set within 30 days of the first day of school. Parents should send proof of their child's selection/participation in the previous GT program directly to the campus GT coordinator, Erika Serhus.

Current WCHE parents can submit referrals for screening up until the end of the first 9 weeks, by the date of October 10. Current WCHE students will be tested during the 2nd 9 weeks. If the referral and permission forms are not submitted by the deadline, the student will have to wait until the next year's screening opportunity to screen, as the spring screening session is only for students moving in new to the district after the fall testing window is closed.

The forms and further information about the program can be found here.

Once the request is submitted through the google form. the GT coordinator will contact parents via email when the testing dates are set and share other pertinent information as well.

You are also welcome to contact your campus GT coordinator at any time with questions.

We look forward to supporting your gifted and talented student!

A special request from our neighbors....

....our neighbors ask that we be careful NOT to park on the Cypress Ranch Boulevard median. It is a water quality median and is lined with sprinklers. The neighborhood uses their resources to landscape the median and to keep it watered.

Vehicles driving and/or parking on the median break the sprinkler heads.

Let's be good neighbors and park only in the school's parking lots, and, if the lots are full, park on the street next to the curb. Thank you!
